On Page Search Engine Optimisation
On page optimisation are the methods associated with the physical optimisation of the website itself. It focuses on particularly the HTML structure, CSS (Cascading style sheets) and keywords.
You must have a well structured site to achieve good ranking and sustain them, at the same time a number of other elements on the site pages have to be considered to make this achievable too. Notably, keywords and the relationship of these not only on individual pages but also throughout the site are just important. There are several methods to balance keyword density and weight on each page using ethical methods so that the search engine can determine the relevance of a site subject. Creating a relationship between the keywords and the descriptive text on the page to strengthen the overall relevance is known as latent semantic indexing.
Furthermore, maintaining some consistency of the subject matter and key-phrases throughout the website as a whole is just as important to ensure internal page rank is maintained at every level in the site - also known as thematic balancing.
This fine balance needs to be maintained in line with changing search engine algorithm requirements and thus needs regular review and updates to maintain positioning overall. The menu to the left details some of the on page optimisation elements in more detail.
